Orange Sky Lane

To start off I want this blog to be more meaningful, more insightful and more in depth.

With this in mind a careful name had to be chosen to represent this desire. By shear coincidence I stumbled onto a great name for my new blog. In the wake of feigning homework I was on AIM and at the same time trying to figure out my next paper topic for my theology class. My theology class in on Buddhism and the its portrayal in film and depictions of Asian people.

Currently, the subject in on Zen Buddhism and forgetting one's self. The metaphor that was brought up was an orange. Now to the in depth analyzes of my blog name.

Orange: The Orange in the movie Zen Noir comes to symbolize the universe and the interdependency of everything in the world. We are from the Earth, we will return to the earth, we become the earth, we nourish the earth, the earth makes nourishes the orange tree, the orange tree produces oranges, we eat oranges and the cycle goes on. We are one. There is no "Orange", there is no "you" or "I".

Sky: Is the goal for many in life. That is: To reach the sky or the sky is the limit. It is very individualistic but very powerful. It drives people to excel in fields of study, makes ordinary people great and people to dream the impossible.

Lane: Comes to symbolize our lane on the highway of life. One's lane is never the same as another nor are our trips the same. We may experience an endless road to the horizon. We may have bumps, potholes and detours along the way. We may encounter other cars on the way: fast ones, slow ones, new ones, old ones, red ones, blue ones etc. We may experience breakdowns on the way and in the worst case scenario we may experience, be in or see an accident beyond description. In any case we continue on until we reach our ending point, wherever that may be.

So with that little intro let us talk, discuss, vent and have fun. Let us come together as one, reach to the sky and burn some rubber. =)
